Originally from Iowa I moved to Amelia Island, FL and grew up in Fernandina Beach. Living in a vacation spot provided many opportunities in a variety of careers, mostly in hospitality. After working in the industry in different areas I finally decided to pursue something I'd always been drawn to, Massage Therapy.
Coming from a large family and a generation when you still gave "back rub" coupons to your family and friends as gifts, I was always told I had the "touch". Until I enrolled in the Massage Therapy Program at Florida State College of Jacksonville, I hadn't realized just how powerfully healing that "touch" can be. Learning a multitude of modalities and the origins of massage as a healing therapy really captured my passion for helping others to relieve stress and pain. I wasn't the only one in my family either to discover this passion, my sister Amy Bohn (practices on Amelia Island) and my mom Linda Bohn (practices in Fort Dodge, IA) also became Massage Therapists. So not only was I able to learn from my training in school, but continue to grow in knowledge and technique by coming together with my family and a united cause, to help heal with our touch.
I currently work at a Spa where everyday I learn something new whether it be a technique or just how rewarding it can be to make someone walk away feeling rejuvenated & stress free. I practice a variety of massages, each tailored to each individual's concerns. No matter the technique or modality, the end goal for me as a Massage Therapist is to release the tension that daily life so readily provides for us, ease your stress physically, relax your mind & muscles, help alleviate chronic issues, and leave you with a feeling of renewed energy.
